The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

OMG! thanks a bunch guys :'D for for suggested and for featured my painting, and for all the lovely comments you guys wrote :'D

I've been on deviant art for about 4 years now, switched accounts 3 times and this is the first DD i've got xD
This really mean a lot to me guys, just right the time when I was thinking of giving up painting and focus on my work, this really give me the appreciation much needed for me to continue painting, so, sincerely, thank you : )

damn it feel awesome that my work finally got some attention :'D make me feel all the time i put into it really worth it :'D

anyway, that is all for now! I have some sketches and painting I'm working on, will upload them as soon as possible

I understand shitty times. I haven't even touched my art projects in over a month >_> Sometimes we just run into obstacles and blocks and there's not much that can be done but to just push through. My brother (who's also an artist/fashion designer) tells me it's like being artistically constipated ^_^;

I am glad to hear you don't plan on giving up tho. That's the most important thing right there. It would be too much of a shame for the world to lose such a brilliant artist.

And of course I support you!! I've been a fan ever since we were both on Colorless together. You are epic, hands down
